City-Kemenkominfo to Realize Integrated Ducting System

Jakarta Provincial Government along with Communication and Informatic Ministry (Kemenkominfo) will realize integrated ducting system in order to support the acceleration of technology and digital services infrastructure.

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno expressed, to compete in the era of digital economy, to ensure the availability of infrastructure must be highly qualified, especially, related to the need of fiber optic installation to support high-speed internet access.

"Service in Jakarta has become a necessity if we want to compete in an increasingly interconnected global world," expressed Sandi, when he became a keynote speaker for Asian Venture Capital Journal (AVCJ) Private Equity & Venture Forum 2018, in one of hotels in Central Jakarta, Wednesday (4/25).

Via integrated ducting system of multi-storey buildings, Jakarta will certainly has a path and fiber optic access that is organized and provides convenience.

The city took the initiative to coordinate with Kemenkominfo to realize integrated ducting system in public private partnership concept.

"We will do a massive and comprehensive effort to avoid extracting and closing holes with the existence of ducting together without digging and covering the hole for the cables, it must be avoided," he stressed.

Meanwhile, Communication and Informatic Minister, Rudiantara asks the city to make a policy thus all high buildings in Jakarta should provide access for fiber optics for mobile operators to accelerate broadband in Indonesia.

"Ducting is indeed being prepared by Mr. Sandi. If it's not accelerated, we are late to continue," he stated.
